Semolina Cake/ Suji Cake

In India , most traditional homes do not own a oven so this post is all about baking a semolina cake without oven . For this we can either use a pressure cooker or a kadai or any other heavy utensil which can distribute heat evenly .

Lets get started with the ingredients

Ingredients-

.1/2 cup Curd

.3/4 cup Powder Sugar

.1/4 cup Oil

.Milk Powder 2 Tablespoon

.2 cup Suji/Semolina

.1 Tablespoon Baking Powder

.1/2 Baking Soda

.1/2 Vanilla Extract

.1/2 Cup Milk

.1/2 Cup Tutti Frutti

Preparation-

I have used a 6 inch mold, grease the pan and use some flour, If you have butter paper/ parchment paper kindly use that .

Now lets spread some salt in kadai

Place a plate over the salt , any plate will do , just be careful that you don't burn your finger so I have used lid for covering . Place a ring or any hot pot stand just above the salt so that cake bottom doesn't get burn or over baked if we place mold directly over it .

Let it get pre heat for 10–15 minute , meanwhile we will prepare our batter.

Batter Preparation

Lets take Suji /Semolina in a mixer and grind it .

Once it is grinded put it in a bowl ,

Now add powdered sugar to it if you don't have just grind the sugar ,

put this grinded sugar/powdered sugar in the same bowl

now we will add curd , milk powder and oil in it

now wisk it properly

now cover it and let it sit for 15 minutes .

Lets take Tutti Frutti in a bowl and add some flour to it ,

Post 15 min take the batter bowl and add Vanilla Extract, Baking Powder , Baking Soda and Milk and mix it well again .

Post that add flour mixed Tutti Futti into that batter and mix it well again

Now we will pour this batter into greased mold and decorate the cake with some more tutti frutti .

Tap the mold to remove bubbles , now we will place this mold into preheated kadai and cover it with lid .

Let it bake on medium flame for about 30–40 min and then take out the mold and let it cool . Demold cake once it is cool .
